In the book, Joshua – we see a man that God has raised up to be a mighty leader.  We see God telling him three times in Chapter 1 to be “strong and courageous”.  We also see the Israelite people choosing to follow Joshua’s leadership and encouraging him to be strong and courageous too.  In Chapter 24:15 in Joshua’s final address to the nation, he makes a bold declaration – “But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD”.  The question Joshua is putting to the people is this – make a choice… Are you going to serve your own gods and idols, or are you going to serve the Lord?
