In Matthew 13:45-46 Jesus gives a parable to us.  A parable is a story used to illustrate a moral or spiritual lesson.  In the parable of “The pearl of great price” we see Jesus in the roll of merchant.  We see us in the roll of the pearl which has immense value.  The merchant sells all that he has in order to purchase the pearl.  This is what Jesus did with us – Jesus entered His creation and purchased us with His precious blood.
